HYRA Heading
ALPHABET LIST RIDER

Welcome to Heartland Youth Rodeo Association.  Our association strives to provide the highest possible quality of rodeo and awards for our contestants and their families.  In order to accomplish this, it takes a great deal of hard work from everyone through out the year.  As part of the requirements to qualify for year end awards there are a few assignments that each contestant and their families must fulfill.

CONCESSIONS

Each contestant is to provide HOMEMADE baked goods, as they sell best, such as pies, cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc., for our concessions stand. Large quantities of main dishes are also greatly appreciated.  Please contact Brenda Marks, she runs our concessions stand, at the first rodeo if you would be interested in bringing a main dish, other grocery/kitchen items, or uncertain about what to provide for the concessions stand.  Profits from the concessions go directly into the prize fund!

SILENT AUCTION

Each contestant is to provide at least one (1) NEW item for the silent auction.  The items must be donated, NEW, and need not be horse related.  The Board of Directors asks that you please not bring used/garage sale items, as stated in the HYRA Rulebook.  Items may be large or small, the key here is the more money we raise through the silent auction, the better our awards are.  100% of the proceeds of the silent auctions go directly into the prize fund!

HELP WANTED

Long hours, no pay, but lots of thanks and gratitude.  It takes a lot of hard work from everyone, not just the Board of Directors to run a successful rodeo.  Each family is required to work the rodeo on their assigned weekend and fille out a workslip.  We ask that you please be willing to work both days of the rodeo and in multiple events/areas as needed.  A few examples are setting up barrels & poles, opening gates, working roping events, timers, office & concessions help.  The announcer will call for help in different areas throughout the rodeo.  Please step up and do your part for the contestants.  Arena help must be at least 17 yrs. of age, for safety issues.  HYRA does understand that families with small children must assist them during the rodeo.  We ask that you plan for this and make arrangements so that you or another family member will be available to fulfill the work requirement.  Please make sure you pick a work verification slip in the office, complete it and turn it back in, so that the contestant receives credit.

If you are unable to participate on your regular weekend, please work the next rodeo, or let the office know what rodeo you will be participating in.  Sign up sheets and work verification slips are in the office to write down what you have brought for concessions and silent auction.  Please make sure make note of your item (s), as this is part of how we verify requirements for year end awards.    Concessions, Silent Auction, and Working are all mandatory requirements for contestants to receive year end awards. Sponsorship and Visa Card Raffle are also mandatory requirement for year end awards.
